Red Bridge

The historic building, one of the objects of the Austrian Fortress Krakow. Rokadowej grade-separated junction road (ul. Waliszewski) and the access road to the fort Pękowice (ul. Pękowicka) anti-embolism, which could arise during the fight while simultaneously regrouping of troops in both these ways. He could have very serious consequences and therefore about 100 years ago, built on the distant outskirts of the city contemporary two-level intersection. Recently made renovation, which restored the original appearance of the Red bridge.
Under the Red Bridge leads Eagles Nests Trail, coinciding with the old, medieval trade route connecting Krakow and Częstochowa, and further - with Wielkopolska. It runs here a fragment of the cultural and pilgrimage route Via Regia, which is one of Roads of St.. James, leading to the shrine of the saint in the Spanish Santiago de Compostela.
